NFL Power Rankings Week 16: Comparing Teams to Christmas Holidays

NFL Power Rankings Week 16: After the exciting week 15 of NFL, here I’m ready with NFL Power Rankings Week 16.

We have been digesting the well known fact about Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, which still remains on top in NFL power rankings since long time. Enjoy the last two weeks of the NFL regular season along with football betting and happy holidays.

This time, Vikings did good job on comparison with previous rankings. Expectations were really high on Green Bay Packers to be in top 5, but they could not stand upon. The unfortunate news about Dallas cowboys is about their shut down step towards NFL Playoff. I feel, it is tough for them to give important mark for this NFL regular season.

NFL Power Rankings Week 16

Jacksonville Jaguars are in 15 as of now which may fluctuate soon. How ever, they are not going to be competitors to Titans. Finally, the worst team in the NFL is St. Louis Rams.

Well, let us have a look over NFL Power Rankings for week 16:

(1) Indianapolis Colts (14-0)
The Colts worked the Jaguars of Jacksonville, kicking the sleek cats with those powerful young hooves, and stomping them into the turf.

(2) New Orleans Saints (13-1)

New Orleans lost a game to Dallas, who the game meant much more to, and dropped a spot to No 2. They will finish the season at 15-1 and stay at this position into the playoffs.

(3) Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings rebounded from their Arizona defeat by chopping up the Bengals, piece by piece. Minnesota should also win out to finish at 14-2 and keep the No. 3 ranking into the playoffs. They are a dangerous team to face on the road.

(4) San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers may be finally at the dream season they have been waiting for. Beat Cincinnati at home and wrap this division up in Tennessee next week.

(5) Arizona Cardinals
Arizona is hot more than they are cold, are in control of that division, and headed for the playoffs. Many teams can’t say that, in Week 16. 11-5 or 10-6 will be the final record and the NFC West title will be theirs again.

(6) Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers have come charging out of the woods, surprising teams, and slaughtering them, storing their seasons in a deep freeze until next year. The Packers could be at a wild card pace of 10-5 when this Week 16 ends.

(7) Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals are having a tragedy type season, with two very emotional situations interfering with the concentration needed to win championships.

2009 NFL Week 14 Picks and Predictions - NFL Picks Week 14

I feel 2009 NFL Week 13 was a quite weird. Did Oakland beat Pittsburgh? Did New Orleans and Washington go to overtime? Does really Brett Favre looks human? Free NFL Week 14 Picks

Any way, NFL Week 14 continues to entertain. The AFC wildcard race is completely up for grabs as is the AFC East and West divisional races and the NFC East and West have some uncertainty at the top.

Here are 2009 NFL Week 14 picks & predictions:

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland, 8:20PM ET

The Steelers have lost four in a row. This clearly tells how far Pittsburgh has fallen. However, they are playing the Browns and will get a win to stay relevant in the wildcard race.
Pittsburgh 20, Cleveland 10

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

New Orleans vs. Atlanta, 1:00PM ET

With Matt Ryan back the Falcons will be more in competitive spirit than they were in NFL Week 13. Against the Redskins, after seeing the Saints exposures this could be a challenging contest. Still the Saints are the Saints, you can not pick against them until they give a lawful reason.

New Orleans 31, Atlanta 21

NFL Week 14 Predictions and Picks 2009

Detroit vs. Baltimore, 1:00PM ET

The Lions rank near the bottom. If Baltimore hopes to stay in the playoff race, then they will need this one.
Baltimore 24, Detroit 13

Green Bay vs. Chicago, 1:00PM ET

If the Bears win, then they win against low level opponents. The Packers are better but a low level opponent. Green Bay stays in the game and constantly works whether they win or lose.

Green Bay 20, Chicago 13

Seattle vs. Houston, 1:00PM ET

Last week, the Seahawks posted a win against the 49ers. However, they were less than dominant in their endeavors. The Texans are toughest division in the NFL and need to prove this time.
Houston 27, Seattle 17

Miami vs. Jacksonville, 1:00PM ET, CBS

5-1 home record for the Jaguars. They are tied for the lead in the wildcard. The Dolphins are coming off of a confidence with their win over the Patriots. These teams are evenly matched and will play a close contest.
Jacksonville 20, Miami 17

NY Jets vs. Tampa Bay, 1:00PM ET, CBS

The Jets have ranked in first in defense and the Buccaneers are bad.

NY Jets 24, Tampa Bay 10

Carolina vs. New England, 1:00PM ET

The Patriots are mortal in NFL season. Tom Brady had a throw for 352 yards but when they were in need, the New England defense could not come up with a stop.

New England 28, Carolina 17

Cincinnati vs. Minnesota, 1:00PM ET, CBS

I think the best featured match up of the week. Cincinnati has changed its position scorer to a meager defensive squad. Last week, Minnesota took a beating but still carries a more balanced team.

Minnesota 24, Cincinnati 17

Buffalo vs. Kansas City, 1:00PM ET, CBS

On Thursday Night, the Bills lost a tough one but still they have a respectable crowd. We never know when Kansas City is going to have a decent game there by to surprise an opponent.

Buffalo 17, Kansas City 13

Denver vs. Indianapolis, 1:00PM ET, CBS

Broncos did not turn things around last week. Against the sad Chiefs, they may play. Indianapolis continues to impress still.

Indianapolis 30, Denver 17

St. Louis vs. Tennessee, 4:05PM ET

In the 2010 NFL Draft, Rams are continuing to compete for the #1 pick. Titans may not be there yet but are definitely better than the Rams.

Tennessee 35, St. Louis 20

Washington vs. Oakland, 4:05PM ET

With a new QB at the helm for the Raiders, it is hard to judge just how good or bad they are. The Redskins should have a much better record and their semi respectable defense will shut down the inconsistent Oakland offense.

Washington 21, Oakland 12

San Diego vs. Dallas, 4:15PM ET

The Chargers have been on a roll while the Cowboys have been all over the page. So far this NFL season Dallas has been hardnosed at home. San Diego has been playing equally well on the road. The consistency of the Chargers will tip the scales here. 2009 NFL Week 14 Picks and Predictions

San Diego 24, Dallas 21

Philadelphia vs. NY Giants, 8:20PM ET

Just when you thought the Giants were toast they come back with a win to stay in the thick of things. Statistically New York has a better team but the record says otherwise. The Eagles have been rolling along nicely lately and will carry that momentum into Week 14.

Philadelphia 27, NY Giants 20

Monday, December 14th

Arizona vs. San Francisco, 8:30PM ET

A week ago this was building up to be a much more interesting game. Unfortunately for the 49ers they made some poor end of game decisions in Week 13 that could have cost them a playoff spot.

Arizona 31, San Francisco 17

Are you the ultimate Saints Fan?

NFL Week 10 Picks: For just a few moments on Sunday, they took the air out of our lungs. That dreadful thought creeped back into our collective consciousness. You know the one, that i know....

The Carolina Panthers scored 14 unanswered points right off the bat and hands were thrown in the air across the Gulf Coast region.

Would there be a brushing off of the old paper bags?

As if to scorn us for thinking such a thing, the boys in black came back and showed the Panthers just why they are one of only two unbeaten teams in the NFL at the season’s midway mark.

They also showed us fans that this is, indeed, a new day in Saints football history. “There hasn’t been a real great history here in regards to successful football,” coach Sean Payton said, in an understatement that rivals any other of the year. “It’s good to get to 8-0. I’m excited for our players. I’m proud of how hard they played.”

NFL Week 7 Wagering Opportunities

In this nfl week, there might only be 13 games on the schedule, however 5 exceptional matchups are really standout on Sunday afternoon.

This week AFC-NFC conflicts dominate the NFL schedule and four in particular are worth noting. The NFC leads 13-10 SU and Minnesota will put unbeaten record on the line at Pittsburgh.

Two upstarts, San Francisco and Houston will try to keep pushing playoff aspirations. Chicago and Cincinnati meet in the Queen City and one team will have consecutive losses at the end of the day. New Orleans is in potential flat spot on the road against rested home underdog Miami and Dallas also returns from a bye week and to face a dangerous Atlanta squad.

Minnesota at Pittsburgh 1:00E FOX

Minnesota (6-0, 4-2 ATS) continues its most difficult stretch of the 2009 season with a trip to what could be the NFL’s toughest environment, Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.

The defending champion Steelers (1-5 ATS) are starting to find their groove, having won three straight games to move to 4-2, with 27-14 win over Cleveland.

They’ll head into their bye week next, important since underdogs and road teams are 6-1 ATS in the last seven Pittsburgh pre-bye week games. Head coach Mike Tomlin’s team is also just 2-5 ATS in its last seven tries vs.

NFC foes and just 1-2 SU & 0-3 ATS hosting the Vikings. Still, with a 28-11 ATS record vs. teams with winning percentage of 75 or higher, Pittsburgh has to like its chances. Minnesota will be out for more late game magic vs. the Steelers and is 3-0 SU and ATS on the road.

Keys to the Game-

At 40-years old, Brett Favre has the third highest quarterback rating at this juncture of the season, as the offensive line has done superior work in keeping his jersey clean.

This allows Favre to step into his throws and getting attacking defenses. Last week was perfect example as they built 14-0 lead on Baltimore before they knew what hit them.

Minnesota has performed poorly in two of last three games in the fourth quarter, being torched on the ground and thru the air. That won’t work against Ben Roethlisberger and the Vikes are 1-10 ATS in road games after allowing seven or more yards a play in their previous game.

The Steelers haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 24 consecutive regular season games and keeping Adrian Peterson in tow is tantamount. Favre has hit a number of plays to WR Sidney Rice the last few weeks, those have to be contained.

Pittsburgh is 11-2 ATS in home games after gaining 300 or more passing yards and must keep Jered Allen away from Big Ben and keep the pressure on 24th ranked pass defense.

San Francisco at Houston 1:00E FOX

After being off last week, San Francisco coach Mike Singletary faces a challenge of getting his 49ers (3-2, 4-1 ATS) teams to play well, as they were 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in post-bye week games prior to his arrival.

Another obstacle figures to be the fact that this will be the 49ers first ever trip to Reliant Stadium. They are still stinging from the 45-10 loss to Atlanta, their first ATS setback of 2009.
